In previous iterations of the show, first-place and runner-up celebrities were professional athletes (former NFL running back Rashad Jennings and former MLB catcher David Ross, respectively). For season No. 25, which kicked off last week, the jocks are represented by former NFL wide receiver Terrell Owens and former NBA point guard Derek Fisher. Other notable names still in contention include Nick Lachey, best known as the lead singer of 98 Degrees; Frankie Muniz, he of Malcolm in the Middle fame; and Pretty Little Liars actress Sasha Pieterse. This week featured a two-night double-header of ballroom dancing followed by Latin Night. The former led to the elimination of Shark Tank panelist Barbara Corcoran and her unlucky pro partner, Keo Motsepe, while the latter spelled goodbye for singer-songwriter Debbie Gibson and partner Alan Bersten. No team has firmly established itself as the duo to beat, but that hardly matters to Social. Over the last 10 days, “DWTS + 25” has an 84 percent positive score. –Alex Shultz
